The Burning Bush
Death can’t come fast enough
Cant extinguish this forest fire with enough haste.
This here is arson;
The burning bush,
And a structural damage that cant be reversed.
I’ve been struggling with my second poem in the challenge because in a lot of ways, nothing is forbidden in my world… but I got something brewing.

To cure my jungle fever
The wages were death.

30 day challenge - day 1 Prompt: take the line...
We were meant to be solvent.
A means to an end,
A beginning of the unravel.
A consentual mess of hurt and desire.
We are the yin rebounding from the yang.
The tao of getting down.
We are stitching wounds with acid soaked sutchers (spl?)
I tell you, not what you want to hear;
What we need,
Buttering the burn.
What if we do love each other,
And I miss you;
More than expected...

Prompt: Write a poem of at least 15 lines using the line: Sometimes, yesterday isn’t worth the memory. Falling Flower
(for my father) his death
was a falling
flower
spiral

upturned
accordion
the pulse
like a backward lope

khaliahp asked: "Is it more important to me to be artistic or recieve crowd love?" I ask myself every time. The art is there, the metaphors intriguing, but does it get lost in verbal delivery. Most especially when performing poetry. Poetry for page is different from performance poetry. I debate reciting a piece that was beautiful on page for an audience. Will they get it? Will they miss it entirely?...

Love Like Vegas
My hands still smell like gasoline.
You said that every night with me is like las vegas
Color me neon glow flattered
With a smile like phosphorous
And enough attraction to make you forget the rest of the world.
Whatever happens with vegas;
Stays with vegas.
You’ve rode along my streets.
Known me to strip in front of complete strangers
But save you the private show.
Every day a gamble...

Poets thoughts: Why Write Well (unedited)
So i was talking to myself, as i often do, and i got to thinking (as i often do) about poetry. This time, my poetry, which led me to practice memorizing one of my poems.
I have a horrible time memorizing, so i really struggled through the poem (which i am saying aloud to myself, in public mind you) when i get to a series of beautifully structured lines. I usually am not impressed by my own...

Feeling rather low. Idk…I’m just not feeling pretty right now. I mean, it’s late so I really shouldn’t anyway. I’m also a little lonely.
I feel the same way. But we will survive. That’s what we do.
