Late Night Freewrite - We are artist
We are artist.
we find the beauty in the smallest things.
Make efforts to translate them into strokes of paint
And words.
Sometimes we freeze moments and frame them in phrase,
Or hang them on walls.
We are artist,
Sensitive to a fault.
We like to drink,
A lot.
We cry or get angry at our problems and feverishly abuse
Ourselves before abusing a page.
We are artist.
We are prone to spurts of experimentation.
Try all kind of stuff,
This is a poem, what would it sound like with a tuba!
This is a painting, intake drug, this is a mystical ride though your subconcious
This is a documentary about housecats,
this is sex while watching a documentary about housecats,
This is gay anal sex while watching a documentary about housecats.
We are artist,
Believe in frilly things like love,
We know it won’t happen for us, but we like the idea,
Paint abstract pictures of the perfect relationship,
Dream of sipping tea and crashing parties,
Wandering through haunted houses and shopping for matching bowties.
We experience heartbreak,
Face facts and move on
By writing and reliving our heartbreak everytime we share.
We are idealistic
Believe the world can be healed with hugs
And passion
And martyrdom.
We wake up in the morning
Look ourselves in the mirror
And say today is the day I reach up and grab that bottom wrung!
Someday, we will burn down the ladder and bring the world to us.
We are artist,
The box doesn’t exist to us,
Unless its in reference to our art,
In that case, sometimes we are
Just a series of sides and angles.
We are artist
We have dreams of success
Work ethics that match millionares,
But products valued as novelty.
We look up to our artistic superstars,
But expect not to be teachers
Alcoholics
Sellouts
Or dead before anyone recognizes our genius.
we think we are genius’
We are artist
And we pray you are ready to accept what we have come to offer.
